My professional training and line of research was developed on reproductive biology and fishery of marine gastropods, focused on their sustainability as a resource and conservation. I currently have a postdoctoral fellowship from the National Agency for the Promotion of Science and Technology (ANPCyT), and I am working at the Center for the Study of Marine Systems (CESIMAR) (CCT CENPAT-CONICET). My research is framed within the project “Ecoimmunology in Magellanic penguins: evaluation of the effects of tourism on immune function”. My work in this project is focused on evaluating the effects of ecotourism on the physiology of Magellanic penguins Spheniscus magellanicus in Punta Tombo (Chubut), the main reproductive colony of the species, through the use of measurements of immune function, stress indices, morpho-gravimetry, and determination of reproductive success as indicators of susceptibility of individuals to environmental disturbance.
